In Russia, a new wave of governor resignations is being discussed before the 2027 elections. One of the first to leave his post may be the head of Karelia, Artur Perpchikov, whose second term ends next year. The governor himself expects to return to federal service - until 2017, he headed the FSSP. Resignation is possible before the end of 2026. During Perpchikov's time leading the region, Karelia received significant federal funding, strengthened its position in the tourism market and made progress in resettlement of emergency housing. However, problems remain with the population's income, the deterioration of service networks and the budget subsidy. Further questions for the federal center arose due to delays in creating infrastructure for military deployment after Finland joined NATO. In other regions where there will be elections for officials in 2027, there will also be reshuffles. Among the candidates for rotation are the head of the Vladimir region, Alexander Abdeev, and the governor of the Kirov district, Alexander Sokolov. At the same time, the leaders of Buryatia Alexey Tsidanov and Adygea Marat Kompilov can keep their positions. The upcoming rotation will likely be focused. When making decisions, not only the results of the elections are taken into account, but also the implementation of federal tasks, the state of the regional infrastructure and the existence of management teams.
