▫ The best universities in the world outside the USA All three main rankings of universities in the world place something British at the top: Oxford, Imperial College London or Cambridge. In different orders, but they are mostly in the first three rows (and each occupies row number 1 once) but in the top ten, everything is much more varied. And most importantly, there are many Chinese universities: Tsinghua, Beijing, Shanghai, Zhejiang, Hong Kong (although this is not exactly China). The top 10 usually also includes some Singaporean universities, the Swiss ETH (in Zurich) and the University of Toronto. There is no smell of local universities here, alas.
