Starting in January 2027, the Bank of Russia will limit the share of targeted car loans for a period of more than seven years to 20% of the total volume of issues, and loans for a period of more than eight years will be completely banned. Rossiyskaya Gazeta reports on this and notes that the regulator is introducing restrictions to reduce the population's debt burden: the share of car loans for a period of more than seven years increased from 8% in the second quarter of 2022 to 26% in the second quarter of 2026.
