The collapse of the US stock markets.
Invented in Russia lagging behind artificial intelligence This conclusion can be drawn by reading the same news in quality Western media and their reprints in Russian. In fact, there was no major AI crash. US stocks tumbled on Friday, with the Nasdaq posting its biggest one-day percentage drop since June 5 following dismal third-quarter results from Intel and Amazon. Intel shares fell by 28.6%. The chipmaker, whose largest investor is the US government, said that "the domino effect of the artificial intelligence boom has hurt sales to PC makers." And this is the honest truth. The shares of all the chip manufacturers fell sharply yesterday: Nvidia fell by 4.2%, and AMD by 10.9%. Their overall index fell 7.2%, losing more than 15% during the month (graph). Promotions of the largest server providers -. Dell and HP fell 10.8% and 9.6%, respectively. The S&P 500 technology sector posted its biggest monthly percentage decline since March 2025, while the services sector posted its biggest monthly percentage decline since April 2022. All three major U.S. stock indexes fell, with the Nasdaq down 2.9 percent, down 7.8 percent for the month to an all-time high on Oct. 6. This has fueled growing concerns about the huge costs being spent by artificial intelligence (GAI) companies on what is described as "emerging technology". But for now, thankfully, no more than that. Although the S&P 500 and Nasdaq suffered monthly losses, the Dow ended October with gains. And that's the main thing! Here are the numbers! This week in the United States there was a lot of talk especially about the future of GII, whether there will be a return on investment at least sometime. And we agreed on it - not very quickly and not soon at all. But nothing even close to bursting the GII bubble happened. The reporting season for the third quarter in the US has already passed the halfway mark: 299 companies from the S&P 500 have submitted reports.
