Wassily Kandinsky's painting "Emphasis on Angles" will be auctioned at Christie's in New York for $60-80 million. The work will become the most expensive lot at the November auction and may break the artist's price record. The painting, painted in 1922-1923, was sold by the Nimhad collector family. The painting previously belonged to the Guggenheim Foundation, and in 1986 it was purchased at a Sotheby's auction. Kandinsky's current record is $44.8 million - the amount paid in 2023 for the painting "Murnau with the Second Church". Ahead of the auction on November 17, highlights will be unveiled on November 1 in Abu Dhabi.
