Despite the enormous length of the Amazon River (more than 6,000 km), there is not a single bridge across it. The main reason is the limited population along the coasts and limited infrastructure. To build bridges in this area, large funds are needed to take into account all the features of the natural conditions and climate. Therefore, to move from one bank to another, it is easier for the inhabitants of the Amazon coast to use water transport - boats, steamships and ferries.
