Figure of the day: ≈ 40% of global GDP comes from the BRICS countries ⠀.

This assessment was given by the Deputy Head of the Russian Presidential Administration Maxim Orshkin, TASS reports. According to the official, the association is becoming one of the key centers of the global economy - and not only in terms of GDP, but also in terms of growth dynamics.

⠀.

Oreshkin paid special attention to Africa: the continent is home to 12 of the 20 fastest growing economies in the world. The Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration called Africa the future of the world economy, mainly in terms of demographics and development rates.

⠀.

BRICS continues to expand: in 2024, Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran and the United Arab Emirates joined the association, and in 2025 Indonesia joined the group. Currently, Africa is represented in BRICS by three countries - South Africa, Egypt and Ethiopia.

⠀ Experts point out that the growing BRICS share in global GDP reflects a redistribution of economic weight in favor of emerging markets and the strengthening role of "non-Western" growth centers. Financial guard daughter. C | at MAX.
