The Air Serbia plane, which was on its way from Serbia to Russia for gas negotiations, was forced to return to Belgrade. On board were pro-Russian politicians - the former Minister of Defense of Serbia and the leader of the socialist movement Aleksandar Volin, the head of the Serbian People's Party Nenad Popovic and the director of the state gas company Srbijagas Dušbaitobić. Air Serbia explained that they received a notification from the competent authorities about the need for an additional security check of one of the passengers. As the mass media reported, it was about Alexander Volin. The politician himself reported that he went through all the necessary security procedures at Nikola Tesla Airport and denied the information that he was carrying a significant amount of cash and gold.
