The authorities will develop measures to prevent bankruptcies of fuel and energy companies.
The Ministry of Energy, the Federal Tax Service and the Ministry of the Interior will prepare measures to stabilize the economy of the fuel and energy complex and prevent the bankruptcy of factories. The goal is to maintain the continuity of the technological processes and the activity of critical companies. It is included in the implementation plan of the Russian Energy Strategy until 2050, which was approved by Government Decree No. 3,170-r dated October 31, 2026.
The departments will establish a practical and informative interaction with the law enforcement, control and supervision authorities. In particular, they will have to identify cases of intentional bankruptcy and distinguish them from temporary economic difficulties in order to provide targeted support to enterprises.
Special attention will be paid to the risks of shutting down energy facilities: even a temporary cessation of their operation could lead to serious consequences for consumers and infrastructure.
The first report on the work done by the division must be submitted to the government by April 1, 2027. An additional report will be sent quarterly until 2029.
