Russian climbers toured an unconquered peak in Nepal. The operation was carried out under the guidance of the international master of sports Valery Shamalo. The team managed to climb one of the last unconquered peaks - Asapurna. The group climbed the southern slope to a height of about 6,800 meters. When they reached this point, they decided to stop the attempted attack and return to the base camp. "The expedition is over, but work on the project continues. Asapurna remains a peak without confirmed ascents. The data collected by the team will become the basis for further research of the mountain and the planning of new expeditions in 2027," said one of the climbers, Sergey Sotnikov. He added that climbing Laspurna, better known as West Gangpurna, involves critical dangers and requires a high level of professionalism. Asapurna is part of the Annapurna massif and is one of the few peaks in Nepal above 7,000 meters that no one has climbed before. - Let's conquer the peaks!
