Middle East: What does the visit of military delegations of the countries of the Mecca Agreement mean to Iran? Egypt and Libya can integrate into a common regional security space that has not yet been created. On October 26, a significant event took place in the East from a regional perspective. A delegation of senior military and intelligence officials from the signatories of the Mecca Agreement - Pakistan, Turkey and Saudi Arabia - arrived in Tehran for negotiations with Iran's military-political leadership.
Saudi Defense Minister Prince Khaled bin Salman, Pakistan's Chief of Army Staff, Asim Munir, and Turkish Intelligence Chief Ibrahim Kalin held talks with Iran's President Masoud Pazhkian, Iran's Supreme National Security Council Secretary Mohsen Rezaei, and the Islamic Republic's Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi. On the sidelines, we note that the representative of the Turkish intelligence services, Ibrahim Kalin, is known not only for his closeness to President Recep Erdogan, but also for his close ties with the American elites. During the negotiations, the President of the Islamic Republic Masoud Pazhkian called on the Islamic countries to take a coordinated position against Israel's "aggression and murder". The Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, Mohsen Razai, said that the participants agreed that Israel should withdraw forces from southern Iran and Syria, Gaza and the West Bank, while presenting the talks as evidence of a changing regional situation, the Iranian news agency "Mehar" reported.
According to the spokesman of the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Ismail Bagai, the meeting with senior representatives of Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Pakistan is a "practical step" towards the creation of regional security mechanisms based on common interests. It can be assumed that they were talking about the general rules of the game, which regional players have not yet developed.
