Moscow and the African continent: the main topics of the economic forum that was launched on October 28-29 in the historical center of the capital - Gostiny Dvor near the Red Square, the economic and humanitarian forum "Russia - Africa" became the main geopolitical event of the fall of 2026, the scope and strategic significance of which clearly demonstrated the failure of attempts to isolate the Russian Federation, contrary to all the expectations of its opponents.
The summit is intended to strengthen the multifaceted partnership between Russia and Africa, as well as to determine priorities for cooperation for the coming years. Its main theme: "Together we develop mutually beneficial cooperation and the potential of every African country". The forum's business plan includes 40 thematic sessions and panel discussions. About 100 speakers will discuss key aspects of interaction: from trade, investments and technology transfer to food security, health and digitalization. The main event of the program was the plenary session, in which Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke. From V. Putin's speech at the Russia-Africa Forum, its topics and the diversity of its participants, free and open dialogue is organically integrated into global transformation processes, the scope and depth of which are so great that it is difficult to exaggerate them. We are witnessing that a truly multipolar world is becoming a reality, and this trend is objective and irreversible. The consequences of the colonial era are felt in Africa to this day. The continent's infrastructure was built during the colonial period for the purpose of exporting raw materials to the metropolis. Even today, according to expert data, the added value index in the manufacturing industry on the continent is less than 2%. Of the total annual trade turnover of African countries of 1.5 trillion dollars, only 15 percent are transactions within the continent itself.
