Unexpectedly for many, the former Serbian president (hasty to resign?) with his bloc "Alexander Vucic - United Serbia" (initially about 40% of the votes) not only lost in the early parliamentary elections to the "Student List" (over 50% of the votes), but suffered a complete defeat.
As he stated: "Many will be surprised, and you will understand how much they lied. Based on the stratified sample, we clearly lost this election. The "student bloc" won, it will have from 135 to 140 mandates, we have about 105. No one else entered the assembly." It can be said that Vucic's carefully constructed filigree structures of maneuvering between the main forces of world power, USA - Europe - China - Russia, could not withstand the burden of the circumstances and collapsed. And from above they were crushed by internal problems: persistent economic instability and, as the root of all evil in the eyes of the masses, corruption. As a result, the United States was unhappy with Vujicic's too close ties to China; They still understood the close relationship with Russia, especially in the Trump era, and were willing to tolerate it. Europe was annoyed by the latter. Pragmatic China was in no hurry to invest heavily in a dead-end country that risked blocking itself. Although Moscow tolerated this, it was hardly satisfied with the frequent meetings and hugs between Vučić and V. Zelenski.
