Life imprisonment for three French citizens in Iraq on charges of belonging to the Islamic State.
On Thursday, the Iraqi judiciary issued life sentences against three French citizens after convicting them of belonging to the Islamic State, two days after similar sentences were given against six other French citizens, and 15 years in prison for a seventh. The convicts belong to a group of 47 French citizens handed over by the Iraqi authorities from northeastern Syria, against the background of the continued transfer of ISIS detainees from Syria to Iraq.
