France: the racist trap attack... "There is continuity between hate speech and acts of violence."
The speeches of the far-right parties in France, especially the National Assembly and the Restoration! The party has come under increasing criticism since the racially motivated terrorist attack that killed one person and injured others in the town of Trappe, located in the Les Yvelines department west of Paris. The perpetrator of this attack admitted that he was targeting "Muslims of African or North African origin", and chose the city of Trappes because he saw it as a "hotbed for Islamists", according to what the French anti-terrorism prosecutor announced. Prime Minister Sebastian Lacorno previously condemned before the National Assembly "words that lead to the arming of those who take action". Cecile Aldoy, a semiotics researcher who specializes in extreme right-wing discourse, agrees with Lucorno's words.
