Jordan and Syria agree to establish a security committee, and Damascus announces the resumption of transit through the Nassib crossing.
Following Jordanian attacks on southern Syria and the argument that they provoked early coordination and civilian casualties, Amman and Damascus announced an agreement to establish a joint security committee that would determine the circumstances of the attacks. Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman al-Safadi expressed regret for the deaths of civilians, emphasizing that the attacks were intended to neutralize close threats to the security of the kingdom. At the same time, Syria announced a return to the launch of the cargo movement and the commercial passengers through the crossover, beginning on Wednesday morning.
