The French anti-terrorism prosecution office reported on Sunday that the suspect in Friday's shooting in the towns of Trappes and La Verriere, on the outskirts of Paris, had been transferred to a psychiatric unit for observation. The prosecutor's office said that based on the conclusions of a psychological expert, Kevin T. was transferred. To "the psychiatric unit of the police which will be subjected to a period of psychological observation which is expected to last 48 hours". The attack, which President Emmanuel Macron described as a "racist terrorist", resulted in the death of one person and the wounding of five others.
