The war in Ukraine: Zelensky calls for freezing the battle lines, and Moscow sees the European approach as lacking substance.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called, on Wednesday, to freeze the battle lines in the war his country is waging against Russia, and sees this as a first step towards ceasefire talks, while coinciding with the end of a meeting that included Russian President Vladimir Putin and US Presidential Envoy Steve Witkoff in St. Petersburg, who presented "an important European approach in Moscow". Zelensky's call came in an interview with Fox News, emphasizing at the same time that any peace negotiations must include Ukraine.
