Macron announces that the French navy has intercepted an oil tanker suspected of belonging to the Russian "shadow fleet".
On Monday, the French Navy intercepted an oil tanker "suspected of sailing under a false flag" and "involved" in "fuel transfer" operations "south of the French island of Reunion" located in the Indian Ocean, according to what French President Emmanuel Macron announced on the "X" website. Macron showed photographs of the operation, and emphasized that "France is determined to fight the shadow fleet", whose ships Russia allegedly used to circumvent Western sanctions.
