The King of Spain in Ceuta is a sensitive step that examines relations with Rabat after the immigration crisis

The Spanish monarch, King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia will visit the city of Ceuta on Tuesday, in a visit coordinated with the government. This step, which comes in the midst of the ongoing migration crisis in the Madrid-controlled enclave, may increase tensions between Spain and Morocco. As part of this, and before the visit, the Spanish authorities evacuated the last large migrant camp in the city, and although most of them returned to Morocco within days, thousands of them remain in Ceuta, where they sleep in the open, on the streets or on the beaches.
