The Pentagon announces that the execution of the 2009 Fort Hood attacker was broadcast live over the Internet
After US President Donald Trump agreed to carry out the death sentence against Nidal Hassan, the former military psychiatrist convicted of killing 13 people at Fort Hood in 2009, the Pentagon confirmed that his execution by firing squad would be broadcast live on the Internet. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said the execution would be public, the first expected execution by the US military since 1961.
