The Nobel Prize in Chemistry was awarded to the French Henry Kagan and the Japanese Kenso Sui.
The 2026 Nobel Prize in Chemistry was awarded on Wednesday to Frenchman Henri Kagan and Japanese Kanso Sui, in recognition of their research on nonlinear effects and autocatalysis in asymmetric organic synthesis. The Nobel Committee justified the awarding of this prize to the two researchers because "their discoveries played a decisive role for chemists who design reactions intended for the production of pharmaceutical products".
