Flydubai plane: Australia is investigating the ties of the Omani co-pilot to its territory
The Australian police announced, on Sunday, that a joint counter-terrorism unit in the state of Victoria is investigating the ties of the Omani co-pilot, Humam Al-Hamami, to Australia, after he was accused of attacking the pilot of Flydubai Flight FZ 1073 and attempting to hijack the plane. Sources revealed that he studied at the University of Melbourne about a decade ago, at a time when the public prosecution of the United Arab Emirates described the incident as a "terrorist operation", while Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu invited the United Nations Security Council to conduct a comprehensive examination of the security aspects related to foreign aircraft departing for Israel.
