Live: Iran's oil minister resigns amid growing American pressure on the energy sector
In light of the tightening of American sanctions on the Iranian oil economy and the ongoing tensions around the Strait of Hormuz, President Masoud Pazhkian accepted the resignation of Oil Minister Mohsen Pekanjad, who a presidential official said resigned for personal reasons, and appointed the head of the National Oil Company, Hamid Burd, to the position of Acting Minister.
