France: Classes were suspended Monday in hundreds of high schools due to student protests
The French Minister of Education, Edouard Geoffrey, revealed on Sunday, in an interview with the official media, that classes will be suspended "completely or partially" on Monday in "400 to 500" secondary schools. The minister explained that the schools are closed when "the safety conditions are not met", either for reasons related to the buildings and equipment or because "the workers were directly targeted". According to him, 24 educational institutions were "burned or vandalized" on the sidelines of the student protest that began at the beginning of the week.
