Student protests in France: calls for a large demonstration on Tuesday, and the Paris region announces that 85% of those arrested are minors
The Paris police district reported on Saturday that 824 people had been arrested in the Ile-de-France region since the beginning of the protest movement organized by high school students to demand improved learning conditions and more powers for the education sector. The district noted that "85% of the detainees are minors." Meanwhile, the Union of High School Students in Syndicate called for a third semester of demonstrations on Tuesday, October 6, and to organize a large demonstration in all French cities to pressure the government to respond to their demands.
