Sudan: Former President Omar al-Bashir requests permission to travel abroad for treatment

Sudan's now-imprisoned former president Omar al-Bashir sought permission to travel abroad for treatment after his health deteriorated, his lawyer said Friday, and was approved by his family. Al-Bashir's lawyer stated that his client's condition requires tests and x-rays that are not currently available in Sudanese hospitals, and said that he has not yet received an answer from the authorities.
