Mediapart accuses Bardela of making anti-Semitic statements and the latter files a defamation lawsuit

In an investigation published Monday, investigative website Mediapart accused the head of the National Assembly party, Jordan Bardella, of making anti-Semitic statements in 2013, when he was a young activist in the ranks of the National Front, the party's former name. Bardella denied these accusations "vehemently", considering that the documents on which the investigation was based were "outrageously falsified", and announced that his lawyer had filed a complaint for defamation.
