Spain: The city of Lleida bans the burqa and niqab in most public places

On Friday, the Spanish city of Lleida banned full face coverings in most public places, aiming to focus on the burqa and niqab. The municipality of the city, located in the region of Catalonia in the northeast of the country, stated that the Catalan Socialist Party had joined an unusual alliance with the far-right Vox party and the Catalan separatist party United to pass this resolution.
