Morocco: the Assala party is leading in the results of the legislative elections... and the participation rate is 38 percent

The Authenticity and Modernity Party won the largest number of seats in parliament, according to the official preliminary results of Morocco's legislative elections held on Wednesday. The central liberal party won 97 seats in the 395-member parliament, ahead of its two partners in the outgoing government, the National Assembly of Independents (66 seats) and the Istiqlal party (65 seats), according to what was announced by the Minister of the Interior, Abdel-Wafi Lepetit. The participation rate in the vote was 38.02 percent.
