The Turkish judiciary issued an arrest warrant for 16 people in Izmir after raids against the LGBT community

The Turkish judicial system issued an arrest warrant for 16 people awaiting trial in the western province of Izmir as part of an operation dubbed (My Family is Safe) that included large-scale raids against LGBT associations. The government campaign comes as President Recep Tayyip Erdogan promotes the "Family and Population Contract," an initiative aimed at tackling declining birth rates and an aging population.
