The German Hockey Association (DEB) opposed the return of Russian teams to international tournaments. Earlier, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) ordered the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) to admit the Russians. For DEB, the CAS decision is of particular importance as the 2027 Ice Hockey World Championship will be held in Germany.
