A court in Paraguay has taken the country's former president Santiago Pena into custody after his impeachment, Kommersant writes. The former head of state is accused of abuse of authority and of illegally raising public funds and pension reserves of about 850 million dollars in the accounts of Oano Bank. The credit institution is subject to liquidation and is under external control of the local central bank since the beginning of November.
