The capacity of data processing centers and mining facilities in Russia at the end of the nine months of 2026 increased by 24.4% and reached 5.38 GW. Since the beginning of the year, 1.05 GW of new capacity has been connected to the energy system. As Kommersant writes with reference to data from a system operator, in the last three years the share of data centers in the country's total electricity consumption structure has almost doubled, increasing from 1.4% in 2022 to 2% in 2025.
