A number of regions in Russia have begun to review the size of the one-time payments for concluding a contract with the Ministry of Defense due to the heavy burden on local budgets, Vadomosty writes. In St. Petersburg, the regional payment was reduced from 3.5 million to 400 thousand rubles, in the Smolensk region - from 2.1 million to 1.1 million rubles. At the same time, in Karelia, the amount of compensation for those who signed a contract in November, on the contrary, was increased fivefold, to 2 million rubles.
