The Japanese Nikkei 225 index risks falling 20% from its peak at the end of June and entering a bear market, reports Bloomberg. The negative dynamics stem from a widespread sell-off in the shares of technology companies against the background of investors' fears that the representatives of the Democratic Party in the US will tighten the regulation on the artificial intelligence industry. Meanwhile, the performance gap between the tech-heavy Nikkei and the broader Topix index is the widest in decades.
