The Bank of Canada and the Ministry of Finance have updated the monetary policy framework for the next five years, while maintaining the priority of keeping inflation at the target level of 2%, reports Bloomberg. At the same time, the obligation to actively achieve maximum employment, as well as a mention of the climate agenda, is not included in the new mandate of the regulator. The document confirms that the central bank will continue to respond equally to inflation deviations both above and below the target.
