South Korea's current account surplus hit a record $61.5 billion in September, up from $46.1 billion in August, Bloomberg reported, citing data from the Bank of Korea. The increase in the index is due to an increase in the export of semiconductors against the background of the high global demand for artificial intelligence technologies. The country's trade balance also reached a new historic high, amounting to $62.8 billion, while total exports increased by 92.4% year-on-year to $130.7 billion.
