Democratic candidate Adam Hamilton wins the US Senate election in Kansas with 53% of the vote to 44% for Republican Roger Marshall, Bloomberg reports. This is the first time since 1932 that a Democrat has been elected to the upper house of Congress from this state. According to the agency, the candidate's success was cursed by voter dissatisfaction with Donald Trump's tariffs and high gas prices. Losing the seat makes it much more difficult for Republicans to maintain control of the Senate.
