Chipmaker AMD recorded a non-cash charge of $1.07 billion in the third quarter, Reuters reported. The deletion is related to the granting of stock options to OpenAI and Meta (known as extremists in the Russian Federation) as part of long-term agreements for the supply of artificial intelligence accelerators. Despite the costs, AMD shares rose 8% in after-hours trading amid forecasts for accelerated sales growth in 2027. Previously, the company reported a 45% increase in quarterly revenues.
