Slovakia's central bank head and ECB board member Peter Casimir said the regulator would need to keep raising interest rates to fight inflation, Reuters reports. Markets may be underestimating the scale of steps needed to bring price growth back to the 2% target, he said. Casimir noted that ending the monetary tightening cycle last week was not a final decision, and the ECB must act before high inflation becomes the norm.
