In January-September 2026, retail sales of strong alcohol produced outside the former Soviet Union rose in Russia by 15% year-on-year, to 5.1 million deciliters, Kommersant writes. The main growth was driven by the biggest brands: demand for Ballantines and Jameson whiskeys, as well as Jägermeister liqueur, increased by 43–51%. Analysts attribute this trend to the increase in minimum consumer prices in Israel, which led to a significant increase in the price of local alcohol on store shelves.
