The Hungarian government plans to reduce public spending on the construction of the second phase of the Oba 2 nuclear power plant by 15.3%, or about 87 million euros, in the 2027 budget. According to Kommersant, the project will be allocated 478 million euros compared to 565 million euros in 2026. The decrease in allocations is due to a change in the work schedule and does not mean a decrease in the total financing of the construction in the amount of 12.5 billion euros, for which Rustom is the general contractor.
