The French National Assembly approved the introduction of a tax on Internet traffic for large digital companies, including Netflix, Google and Meta (known as extremists in the Russian Federation), writes Le Figaro. According to the initiative, corporations will pay 5.5 euro cents to the budget for each gigabyte of data transferred to users. The potential revenue from the new levy is estimated at around 10 billion euros. French ISPs will be required to control traffic volume and transmit data to the tax service.
