The National Bank of Serbia revoked the license of Alta Banca, one of the largest in the country. The Deposit Protection Agency was appointed as a bankruptcy administrator, which will immediately notify customers of the procedure for returning funds in the amount of up to 50,000 euros. The regulator explained the decision in terms of the need to protect creditors and maintain financial stability. According to TASS, the owner of the bank is Davor Matzura, close to the leadership of the Serbian Progressive Party, which lost the parliamentary elections on October 25.
