In August 2026, the volume of investments of Russian banks in corporate bonds increased by 45 billion rubles, which is almost six times less than the figure of the same month last year, Izvestia writes, citing data from the Central Bank. In the first eight months of the year, portfolio growth amounted to 255 billion rubles compared to 1.78 trillion rubles a year earlier. The sharp drop in rates is due to the caution of the credit institutions against the background of high interest rates and increasing risks of defaults on the part of corporate borrowers.
