Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that inviting Poland to the G20 meeting in Atlanta violates the principles of multilateral diplomacy and the practice of reaching consensus, Reuters reports. Earlier, Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski said that the United States is proposing to make Poland a permanent member of the G20. According to Lavrov, the Polish economy is not big enough to participate in such formats, and the country itself "adds nothing" to the agenda, while Eastern Europe is already sufficiently represented by participants from NATO and the European Union.
