Japan's Murata Manufacturing will invest 1 trillion yen ($6.3 billion) over five years to expand production of ceramic capacitors for AI servers, Nikkei Asia reports. The company will annually allocate about 200 billion yen for these purposes, which doubles its previous capital investments. The funds will be used to build new factories and modernize equipment against the backdrop of growing demand from data centers: according to the publication, one AI server requires up to 25 thousand capacitors, which is 10 times more than a normal smartphone.
