Energy company Alliant Energy plans to finalize contracts to supply 1 GW of electricity to data centers within six months, Reuters reports. The new capacity will complement the 3.4 gigawatts already planned for Google's projects, Meta (known as extreme in the Russian Federation) and QTS. Against the background of the increase in demand due to the development of artificial intelligence, the company also raised its forecast of capital expenditures until 2030 by 19%, to $15.9 billion.
