A group of 11 European Union countries agreed to release 20.5 million barrels of diesel from strategic stockpiles by the end of January 2027, Euronews reports. The initiative is designed to stabilize the market before the winter against the background of the crisis in the Middle East. Analysts point out that the step is temporary and will not compensate for disruptions in international supply chains. Earlier, the European Commission announced the release of 42.6 million barrels of oil to support the market.
